The scale accurately calculates weight in 5 gram increments.

What about just visiting your Early Childhood clinic to weigh your baby? Remember when Tom Cruise bought a ultra sound machine to monitor Katie's pregnancy? I don't know if getting one of these is going over the top? However I am sure it would come in handy for certain situations.

A white stroller - hmmm!

As part of their new 2007 range Maclaren has released the new Maclaren Volo Carbon. It is a white, yes you heard correct... white light weight stroller. Now I don't know about you but if I had a white stroller for my child it really would be horridly dirty after a while.
This stroller is suitable from 6 months old and takes a weight capacity up to 17kg.

Bugaboo Twin

If Bugaboo was to develop a twin pram this is what you may think it would look like. Its not a Bugaboo though but a brand called First Wheels and it is sold through Mothercare in the UK. It has the option to have a carry cot and seat, so you can have different aged children in the pram. It retails for about 400 pounds and is available in a few different colour options.

I wonder when Bugaboo will develop their twin pram, and what it will look like?

Nicole Richie Pregnant?

Is super skinny Nicole Richie pregnant? That is what reports in the US are saying. Apparently Richie recently went through a series of tests including urine and blood and the test confirmed that she is pregnant. Then on May 30, Richie was 'apparently' photographed outside a reproductive clinic.

Gee she certainly doesn't look pregnant! However if she is I hope that she takes care of herself and eats well!

Take a look at this new stroller to the US

Don't get too excited as this product is unfortunately not yet available in Australia. If it was it would give Bugaboo a big run for its money! Get going with Orbit’s 3-piece starter kit: easily dock the infant car seat into the base and stroller from almost any angle, sensibly keep using the Base and Stroller with future Orbit seats when your baby grows bigger, and confidently install the Orbit Infant System in your car in less than a minute. The Lovenest - helping to combat flattened head syndrome in babies.

I wish this was around when my son was born. Positional plagyocephalia or "flat head" has become a very common occurrence with the high recommendation to place babies on their backs to sleep due to SIDS recommendations. What can happen is, babies tend to find a comfy spot, then once a flat spot starts the baby's head will generally return to that same spot making the flat spot even more pronounced.

The Lovenest is a product that helps to assist in preventing this problem.

The covered, lightweight foam supports your baby's head. Your baby still has freedom to move its head at will. Baby's head is prevented from solely resting on the occiput (or back of the scull).
This product can be used from birth to 4 months. Use only when baby is on his back.

RRP $49.95. The distributor is http://www.roseandlily.com.au/

Please contact your GP or Childhood Clinic should you have and questions or concerns about 'flat head' and your baby.

Expo Finds

I went to the PBC Expo on Friday, and I must say it was the busiest I have seen it and I have been going for quite a few years now. There were so many parents with prams compared to other years.
As always there was a good turn out of suppliers from the baby industry, however I was disappointed that there wasn't more new products being launched there this year.

Over the next week or so I will blog about some of the things I came across.

The New Bugaboo Fabric has Arrived

A little while ago I blogged about Bugaboo releasing a new tailored fabric set fabric for its Cameleon. Well it has arrived. I think this new Cordura fabric is much better suited to the Australian climate and it will wear better too. The new colour toppings available are black, red, sand, off white and dark brown. Parents now have the choice to have their Bugaboo Cameleon totally made up of the Cordura Fabric rather than half Cordura and half fleece. I personally love the look of the sand base and dark brown topping.

Wow - Take a Look At This Pram

This pram looks amazing, nothing like what is currently on the market. It is designed by an American design company, Worrell. It is a concept prototype design and not available on the market yet.

Incorporating research mined from a group of first-time parents, Worrell designer Dan Clements created a product that helps proud parents safely and stylishly take their little ones out into the world. Dated strollers are everywhere says Dan; Wiegen represents a refreshing take on the classic stroller, incorporating vibrant exterior colors and a modern aesthetic.

The Wiegen’s most innovative attribute is its unique “stretcher system.” This system consists of two parts: a neoprene shroud which a lightweight aluminum frame and Polypropylene stretcher support, and a baby sling with five-point harness (designed specifically for an age range of infant to 12 months).

http://www.worrell.com/ for more information.

Thank you to Babystyle blog fan Lauren for sending me details of this pram.

A lovely book for your child

Looking for a good book for your child or for a pressie? Take a look at Tough 'ol Teddy by Australian author Bruce Atherton. It's a heartwarming and compassionate tale of a lost teddy bear and his unstinting loyalty to his owner. Bruce Atherton's playful rhyming verse also makes this an excellent book to read aloud. Published by Lothian Books/Hachette Books and available from all good book stores.
