Merino Kids - Go Go Bag

Baby sleeping bags have become quite popular for babies and young children. For many parents sleeping bags are an essentials sleeping garment for their child.

Merino Kids have developed the Go Go sleeping bag, which has won the IF product design award 2007, based in Germany. Their sleeping bags are made from 100% natural fibres - Merino wool and cotton, to create finer, softer garments that insulate and breathe better in both hot and cold environments

Using a sleeping bag for your child means that your child cannot slip under the covers, as they might with sheets and blankets and wake up cold in the night.

Studies have found that putting babies directly on and in merino bedding lowers their rate of activity and produces a deeper more restful sleep. A study through Cambridge Maternity Hospital investigated the effects of merino and low birth weight babies and found that they gained an extra 10g a day compared to babies that werent on merino. The study also showed that babies cried less, and fed for longer periods. Some great reasons to consider the Merino Kids Go Go bag.

Visit the Merino Kids web site to find out more or to buy on line.

The Go Go bags retail from $159.00

The Sleepover

Travel cots are not always the most comfortable for baby, so many parents have a foam mattress cut to fit into the travel cot or add towels under the sheets to make it a bit more padded . These options however are not the safest for your baby as your child can become trapped, tangle or smothered beneath them.
The Sleepover is a unique product that has been specifically designed to help mothers safely make their travel cots more comfortable for their children. The Sleepover is a padded fitted sheet that fits snuggly over the base of a portable cot providing additional cushioning – it is safe, affordable, washable and easy to use.

It is specially designed to completely cover the base of a portable cot and it can’t be removed by a child therefore making it so much safer than using an extra foam mattress or layers of towels under a normal sheet.

The top of the sheet is filled with polyester fibre, creating a softly padded sleeping surface which is very comfortable and safe for baby.

Size is 75cm x 110cm which fits most travel cots.

RRP is $39.95

The Lazyted by Phil and Teds

Searching for a good excuse to buy your Phil and Teds double conversion kit at the same time as buying your Phil and Teds buggy?

Well here is a great reason. The clever people at Phil and Teds have developed the lazyted which quickly converts your existing doubles kit into an infant bouncer & toddler seat! Now your doubles kit can not only provide you with that extra seat on your buggy, but give you an extra seat wherever you are going.

I think its a good idea to purchase the double conversion kit at the same time as buying your buggy, just in case there are colour changes or product changes later down the track when baby number 2 comes along.
The Lazyted will be available from late November - early December and will retail for $44.95

Reimbursed Childcare Fees When Your Child is Sick

Being launched this coming weekend is a new insurance scheme where parents can be reimbursed for childcare fees when their toddler is sick.

The insurance will cost between $61 and $90 a year, the Kids Cover is available to parents whose children are in full or part-time accredited care.
Would you use such a system? Vote in our poll to the bottom right and leave a comment below.

This may bring a smile to many parents, particularly those working full time who need to find alternative home care or take time off work when their child is sick

The policy does not cover for one day of sickness but does cover a child if they are sick more than three consecutive days of childcare.
Parents will be reimbursed the cost of care less the government's Child Care Benefit.

The insurance does not cover pre-existing illnesses.
