This is an exciting year in the baby product industry, as there are many new brands being released.

One such new brand is the Mutsy. Mutsy will be releasing two prams, the 4 Rider and the Spider. I have heard varying reviews on these prams. I have not seen them yet, so I cant wait to get my hands on one to test once the pram arrives in Australia.

Portamee Carrier

There are many baby carriers available for babies, however most are only suitable whilst your baby is quite young.

Making waves overseas and winning awards is the Portamee carrier which is suitable from 6 weeks until your child weighs 13kilos.

The Portamee comes with a newborn attachment and allows you to carry your baby on your hip.

This stylish carrier alternative is currently only available in the US, however Portamee will ship to Australia.

Portamee has ergonomic lumbar support to reduce back fatigue, it allows you to be hands-free whilst your baby is close to you. It is stylish and constructed with fine fabrics with pockets for your mobile phone, wallet, nappies and insulated bottle holder. Very handy!

Lets hope we see this available in Australia soon.

A Bugaboo Suitable for Two

Love your Bugaboo and don't want to give it up when baby number two comes along? Then this product may be for you.

Anyone with a Bugaboo and the Bugaboo Wheeled Board knows just how versatile and easy they are to use. Now, you can enjoy them even more with the Tiny Tot Board Seat.

The Tiny Tot board seat (which I blogged about in June 2007) has been improved. The seat has a better design and the separate adaptor ring is now fixed in the pole. The seat is lighter in weight and easier to fix to the board.

The Tiny Tot board seat allows you to have your new born in the pram and older child (2 years plus - up to 18kg) on the seat.

This is not a Bugaboo product, however it fits well onto the Bugaboo wheeled board. It is easy to assemble, and if you are looking for a way to transport 2 children and do not want to go to the expense of buying a double pram it is worth your consideration.

Another thing that is new about this product is the price it is now cheaper at $99.95 including delivery Australia wide. Note that for orders outside Australia a small delivery charge will apply.

Special Collection Bugaboo Cameleon Metallic

Exclusive to US department store Neiman Marcus to celebrate their 100th birthday, is the Bugaboo Cameleon Metallic Silver .

Looking very stylish in metallic, the special edition Cameleon features; a dark grey base and a metallic silver topping (sun canopy, seat inlay and bassinet apron. Also included is a special edition cup holder and black microfleece blanket.

All of the other features of this special edition Bugaboo Cameleon remain the same as the regular Bugaboo Cameleon.

Retailing for USD $1,199.00.

Placing an order overseas

Bugaboo Blog reader, Kate has e-mailed me to say that she currently ordered a Bugaboo Bee from Neiman Marcus. The total cost including delivery was $775, and she received her order within 2 weeks. Kate phoned the store direct to place her order.

Thanks for this information Kate.

Note: If you are ordering the Bugaboo Bee or this metallic Bugaboo on line, please make sure that you are ordering from a reputable retailer, as there are unauthorised Bugaboo resellers. I have heard of some customers who have ordered Bugaboo online – and either don’t get the product OR have issues with it . There may be issues with the product and if the purchase is not made through an authorised reseller or dealer then the warranty may not apply.

If you purchase through a reputable dealer then you can have the confidence of back up and service should you need it.

Cardboard Bassinet

Well this certainly takes recycling to a whole new level!

This bassinet is made from ecological, recyclable cardboard, and comes complete with a mattress. It arrives flat packed and no tools are required to assemble.

Now a bassinet is only used for a short amount of time, maybe 3 months, if you are lucky, and storing them afterwards can take up quite a bit of space. This product definitely is suitable price wise, and you could throw it away after use (or flat pack store it again).

However I do have issues with this product. What if it sees one too many number 1's - I'm really not convinced of its sturdiness and safety.

It is the same height as an adults bed 75x56x62 cm.

I love the circle pattern its fresh and funky. The white one you could decorate to suit your home, personalise it, or make it girl or boy theme - the list is endless.

This product costs £48.30 and is available from Little Fashion Gallery. They ship world wide.

Phil and Teds Shakeaway Latte

Phil and Teds aren't starting up a cafe for kids....They just have a quirky sense of humour. I love their different approach to marketing and the bizzar names they give some of their products.

Phil and Teds have released a new bottle system called the Shakeaway Latte, hoodie and tote.

Shakeaway Latte
This bottle has some innovative additions to your regular bottle. The top chamber keeps powdered formula separate from the water in the bottle until you are ready to combine the two for feeding. Mix with a simple twist and shake. No more worries about keeping premixed bottles cold or storing powdered formula in a separate container.

Hoodie
Keeps water in the lower compartment of the bottle warmer for longer with this hoodie thermal pouch.

Tote
This tote carries three shakeaway latte bottles at once, plus nappies, clothing and all the things you need for a day out with baby. It is light and compact. If you want your bag to match your Phil and Teds buggy, this may be for you, as it fits neatly in the parcel tray of the buggy.

Nicole Kidman is Pregnant

Is she or isnt she? These have been the words the media have been speculating madly over the past few weeks.

Nicole and husband country music singer Keith Urban released a statement through Kidman's publicist Wendy Day announcing they are expecting a child.

How exciting for the both of them. I guess now that the rumours are confirmed the poor couple will be hounded even more by the paparazzi.

Kidman was scheduled to begin shooting the Stephen Daldry-directed post World War II drama, The Reader, with Ralph Fiennes this month. However she has dropped these plans to concentrate on the health of her unborn baby.

All the best to them.

Ride on Vacume Cleaner for Children

You can never start them too young when it comes to help with the cleaning.

Smart designer Kristina Andersson has designed a rideable vacuum cleaner. The children can help mum out in a way that is fun and responsible. Your child can ride the vacuum cleaner and clean at the same time.

Encourage children to clean up their own mess. Even if the child does not help at least they may stop screaming while you have time to use the real vacuum.

Not only will this appeal to kids but maybe husbands too!!! You know how much men like the ride on mower – maybe Kristina can invent the ride on vacuum cleaner for guys.
This is a smart, cute and functional item. Visit
yankodesign for more information.

Thank you to Babystyle Blog reader Jacky for this blog posting.
